I wake up at the break of dawn on the day of the race. The noise of the crowd is deafening as the athletes take their positions at the starting line. As soon as the herald cries "GO", the runners take off.
I start off at a mild pace to allow my muscles to warm up. Suddenly, I hear the roaring of a very angry Hydra in the distance. I want to turn around but decide to stay and fight and I arm myself with a bronze shield and sword to make ready.
I come upon the beast but cannot prevail, for everytime I hack off one of the heads, a new one appears. I then take the shield and hold it so that the Hydra can see her own reflection. Startled, the beast retreats and I am free to continue my journey.
I delight in my success, but my euphoria doesn't last and soon I am staring at a huge maze with a sign at the entrance that says "START HERE". There's also a number of balls of yarn with a smaller sign reading "ONE PER CUSTOMER".
Tying one end of the yarn to the sign I enter the maze and pray to the gods that the yarn doesn't break. Finally after many false turns and narrow escapes I reach the center, where I find a number of small bronze statues of Zeus on display. Securing one, I retrace my steps to exit the maze.
