    Up until now, this thread has been home to the Benedideia for SF 2003. Here was the original description of the thread:

    Benedideia Events in Athens 19 & 20 May 2003
    (all times aw comm panel time)

    Monday

    19 May, 1 pm - ??

    1 pm

    Altar dedication and formal sacrifice to the Goddess Bendis. The Vestibule of Mt. Olympus

    9-10 pm

    Horseback torchrace. Bring your own steed or select from our stables. Stables open at 8:30, first come first dibs on the magnificent selection of minotaurian, centaurian, pegasaurian and trojan mounts. All racers must register by 8:55 pm. Benedideia thread

    10 pm till ??

    Mid-night Bacchalian feast...plenty of food, retsina, falernian, and, ummm...according to Bacchus himself...secluded bushes. Benedideia thread

    Tuesday

    20 May, 1 - 10 pm

    1-7 pm

    Mooncake Bake-off, winner decided by popular vote. Benedideia thread

    8-9ish pm

    Archery competition, any style of tensile-released projectile point allowed. All archers must register by 7:55 pm. Benedideia thread

    9-10 pm

    Cake walk and closing ceremonies: Awards for the torch race, best sacrifices, best poem, archery comeptition and bake-off announced. Benedideia thread

    Ongoing throughout the festival... (1 pm Monday - 10ish pm Tuesday)

    Altar of Bendis

    Open for individual or group sacrificial offerings. Awards given for the most creative and reverent offerings.

    Agora Taverna

    Open Homeric epic-style original poetry mic (if you cannot be epic, or even Homeric, at least be poetic). Awards will be given.

    Visitors from Foreign Lands Most Welcome to Participate!
