    Title
    Best of Fest - Historical

Present day, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region...

Recent satellite imaging has revealed a lost section of the Great Wall here. An archaeological team is being assembled now, due to arrive to at the excavation site on April 30th. Two of it's members are Aria Murasaka and Lalita Ashoka. Aria, who has a keen interest in it's discovery, will be there as an expert in both the ancient Chinese dynasties believed to be involved in this section's building and to ensure the wall is restored to exacting historical standards. Lalita is a resident member of the team, relied upon to photograph, catalogue and render in sketched detail the objects discovered and the wall's dimension. The team is formally run by Ji Song Zhou and his group of people well versed in ancient China's history known as Dynastic China. They are our hosts of this story.

206 BC-220 AD, Dawn of the Han dynasty, ancient Xiya...
Here in western China, the fierce nomadic Huns' attacks are unending. But neither is the Silk Road, who's trade fills the emperors' coffers. Since the great Emperor Qin bound the land together through steel and savvy, Walls have been built and connected to protect the countryside, and here is no exception. For the next 400 years, and again in 1500 a.d. during the Great Wall's restoration by the Ming dynasty, this newest wall in Xiya will be traversed by traders, warriors, soldiers, farmers, herders, princesses and all the walks of life from China's memory. Even foreigners from Rome, India, Russia and Tibet intermingle with local people all in the name of trade (and sometimes conquest). As their lives intertwined with the Wall's history, they left fragments of their story behind in various ways.

Where past and present meet again...
As the archaeological team unearth artifacts and work at restoring the wall, each item they uncover sets the stage for a participating writer to begin their story of how the artifact came to be there. Soon a post will be available with a list of ancient artifacts in image and details from both the Han dynasty and the Ming dynasty for participants to choose from. This interactive storyline begins on The Orient's springfest day, but will run for 2 weeks or longer if our writers wish to continue it. It is not a competitive event. We look forward to all of your stories with equal enjoyment!
