Is it just me, or is Gladiator the most historicaly inaccurate movie to ever win an Academy Award? Is it Bravehart, or perhaps something else? ...

How about a Knight's Tale with its ludicrous pop score and mish-mash of armor from various centuries? And where did they find one of Audrey Hepburn's old hats for the heroine to wear?

Last night I was watching Shaw's Caesar and Cleopatra with Claude Rains and Vivien Leigh. At least they made a stab at outfitting the actors properly and the Romans rode without stirrups. Of course, Shaw tampered as much with history as anyone, but at least it was literate.
