Saint Rocco? He is the saint responsible for curing contagious diseases, also the plague.
The legend says that during a pilgrimage to Rome he offered himself as voluntary to assist the pestilence-stricken people and suddenly miraculous healings took place. Later, when he became infected himself with the disease, he took refuge in a hut, where he would have starved, if a stray dog had not brought him a loaf of bread every day and if a miraculous fountain had not sprung out to satisfy his thirst.
