    ..did he destroy the republic?
    Some say YES, others "NO".
    People guess Sulla, a few see Pompeius, and many consider Caesar to be the one.
    Allow me to reply with the little word "VANITY".
    ...too much of it within the senat ...Sulla, Marius, Caesar...et cetera... all these men are children of their culture and their environment.
    Maybe we could think that the senat destroyed the republic. They gave birth to these famous men due to their corruptive character and a certain thing called "VANITY".
