I've been working on Tulum, and was copying the HTML from my last article, when I found something there about the three main Maya city centers, circa 800 BC. Kaminaljuyu, most of which is buried under Guatemala City in the highlands, in listed there.
I searched through my library, and a little more online and discovered that the name for the city of Kaminaljuyu came from a Quiché word that means "Hills of the Dead". So it might be Kami, kaminal, juyu or...uhmm... kaminaljuyu?
Even though this might not be the correct answer, I enjoyed researching it!
