While not specifically about Ceasar, this might help to understand his seizures. I will use the term epilepsy since the definition of epilepsy is having two or more seizures.

People with epilepsy often have what is called an aura. It is actually a very small type of seizure before the onset of the larger seizure. It can be any number of things from odd audio hallucinations like music or bells to odd smells. One common aura is an intense feeling of deja vu (or jama vu) and irrational fear. This can allow the person to get to a "safe" place before the actual onset of the seizure. People with epilepsy tend to go off alone to have the seizure if they aware it's coming.

Those who have had seizures since childhood are usually better equiped to handle them. While still being frightening, the seizures are just a part of their lives. I'd imagine that an adult who suddenly developes epilepsy must be frightend and confused even past the post-ictal stage.

To maybe allow for a better understanding, I will give an example of one of my own usual seizures.

I first get a feeling of deja vu followed by a strange smell of burning rubber. This would be the aura.

It is followed by an intense feeling of fear where I am convinced that this is going to be the seizure that kills me. At this point I try to go somewhere I can be alone so no one sees me die.

The actual seizure is usually only seconds long. I lose connection with reality and black out for a second or two. With the type of epilepsy I have, I have never "passed out". I do not shake either. As I come out of the seizure I yell out "NO!".

Afterward I am confused and extremely irratable. Not to mention just a royal bitch to be around for about an hour.

I hope this might help to understand what Ceasar may have experienced.
