My friend Baha and I have been going crazy with this question, splitting the Western and Eastern desert sites. We have searched every oasis we could find, but found nothing exactly like the image in question.
We are trying to find this small gem through the process of elimination, comparing geological formations and shapes of certain wells and springs.
So far, I think that it is not Bagwat, Dabadib, Lebaka, or Gweeta at Kharga. The image bears no resemblance to either the Beaulac or Nasser Wells. The area around the picture is not as built up as Kharga. I crossed out Kharga as location 1.

It doesn't seem to be as mountainous as Dakhla, but does (sort of) look like the hot springs there. It is not Balat, Ain Sil or Fi Nish. The Mut 3 wells in the area are all round, so they were eliminated. It could be part of or lead to the Ein El Gabel well, so I have not crossed out Dakhla as location 2.
As for the Farafra Oasis, that is more manicured.. There is a city. The sand in the background seems to match, but I don't see the stone enclosure wall.. or any catnip. It's not Deir El Hagary. Well 6 looks long and narrow. I decided this can't be in Farafra, so I crossed out Farafra as location 3.
Am I correct so far? Sementawy, if this is something that you constructed in your own back yard, it looks remarkably authentic.
