I had entered the right bookshelf passage out of the three in the library. This one led to a few rooms which could not be accessed normally.
I strolled down the labyrinth until I came to a very dark passage full of cobwebs which hanged from the sides. I recalled the frightening night walks down here. Readying myself for the darkness, I took a deep breath and stepped into the darkness. The glumness soon surrounded me. Gradually a dreading feeling enveloped me, and I started to shiver. It always felt sinister here. Finally, the passage came to a stop. It was a fallacious dead end. I knew this from experience. Without delay, I stuck my hand into my pocket, grabbed the key, and placed it through a hole with a beam of light shining through it.
I turned the key twice and soon the dead end opened up like a door. I found myself in a daze for the sudden bright light hit my eyes. I blinked for a few moments struggling to get accustomed to my surrounding.
After a few minutes of patiently waiting, my eyes glanced around to discover myself in a room with white walls. It was a room full of light and not darkness. I beamed. At last, a place without evil, not even a tinge. The little room was just enough for four people to sit with two armchairs and a miniature side table with a small box on top. I walked up towards it and unlocked it with the skeleton key. There it was the other half of it…
I put the two pieces together. A flash of light and then total stillness. I picked it up from the floor and scrutinized it. It had changed a bit, turning into a deeper brown with some intricate designs on it. Muttering a few words in my head, I aimed the wand towards the walls. Just like I wished, the walls had transformed to a light chocolate milky brown.
