I came up with the idea seeing as food is the thing we usually remember the most when we go on holiday, whether it's good or bad.
Personally, I don't think there is any such thing as real 'regional food', as you will find with the koupepkia recipe for example, that variations of the same recipe can be found at Turkish, Lebanese, Middle Eastern, Greek, and North African cooking sites.
But to my mind, that's the whole point.
Maybe swapping recipes from around the world is the best way for diverse cultures and peoples to really get the chance to find out more about each other.
