I'm not certain about 5.5, that was a long time ago, but I have been using Photoshop from the start. You should have a black and white icon to the left of the brush options. I have never found it to be accurate. It's sorta like what you get but not exactly. I just try it out and if I don't like it, move on to another. Have you tried holding down the options button and seeing the big amount of choices there?
