The First Italica under Gaius Fabius, Quintus Valerius and the Second Italica and Lucius Munatius Plancus and the Third Italica are all training recruits to fill out the ranks of Attius Varus' III Respublica (commanded by a Hybrida). Do you think we should renumber them? I foresee horrible confusion later.

The Tenth under Gaius Trebonius and the Twelfth under Gaius Calvisius Sabinus have both arrived safely. They have begun training with the XXVI under Quintus Atrius (Attius' man) to make sure they are up to snuff. We are also in the process of refitting all of our shields, as he has done. You will remember, of course, that Aulus Hirtius started the trend when he was in Macedonia some months ago.

Also, Decimus Junius Brutus has sent a letter to me. He is in Tergeste, obviously, and it would seem quite bored. He wonders if there is anything he can do for the campaign?
