Peace Between Equals. Caesar has crossed the Rubicon, but Civil War did not erupt. Caesar and Pompey stand together against the Republicans. In this alternative Rome, who will come out ahead? Or will anyone? You decide.

I have given Matius a wife and two children: the boy we know he had and a girl: see the relevant post here (near the end of the letter). I have made him marry late and his children are obviously young (the girl has just turned 16, the boy is older than the 13 he would be by your reckoning since he thinks he could go to Cleopatra's party "in his father's place", so probably not puer but adulescens.

As CJC said, we had decided to give Matius offices in the Subura and a main villa on the Pincius, near the garden of Lucullus - if that's ok, let's have that instead of the Celian gardens. it would work better as Cicero's place of refuge than the Celian I think.

The Etruria estate, if large enough, I'll gladly take :-)
