when you want to understand more about the early history of Japan. Although they aren't always accurate (especially the Kojiki), these historical chronicals, usually written to justify the position of the ruler on top of the society, are very interesting if only because they are the first written sources on Japan's history produced in Japan. Prior to that, written records were chinese only, were Japanese were refered to as the Wa people
Has anyone else read one or more of those books?
