If I could realy go back in time, I would go to Rome, just prior to the Imperial era say 100 BCE or so. They had real baths, plumbing, paved streets. Things I would realy miss in someplace like England of the some time period. The world was more or less at peace, and no major plagues are scheduled to hit for a couple of centuries. Inflation wasn't out of control yet, and a man still had alot of freedom if he worked hard he could really move up in society.

My joining AW has allowed me to explore aspects of my own history (which as far as I know has very little to do with Roman culture).
