Hello all. Yes, those are three characters I am taking on. We'll see how it all goes, as I am a very experienced role player, but put a lot into development and decent writing. Hopefully this means I won't be over committed, and will be able to really accent some areas that might be less focused upon.
My choices of characters are for a variety of reasons, from a love of the underdog, to the desire to flush out individuals that seem to be so much in the background becuase posterity has not seen them as important movers. I suspect during their time, they had more relevance.
As to how I develop them, my interpretation of them will be based on some of what we know about human nature today in similar circumstances, whilst trying very hard not to take anything out of historical context. For example, Dislexia does not mean you are stupid, yet the Roman historians might not have been as understanding as we are today. Hence, how stupid really was Pompeia Sulla? We don't really know. So, don't be surprised if how I play them is at odds with the well known Colleen McCollough Rome Series.
As the primary aspect of this game is a giant *What if*, I intend to take full liberty with it, and interact with everyone else's characters based on how they roleplay them, not based on history. After all, thats what roleplaying is about.
================================================
Pompeia Sulla:
Daughter of Cornelia Sulla and Quintus Pompeius Rufus (younger)
Grandaughter of Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix and Julia (Minor) Ceasaris
1st Cousin once removed to Gais Julius Ceasar, her ex-husband.
Welath and possesions? Good question, though she would have been one of the wealthier ladies in Rome, due to her family. We need to figure this out, but she would certainly have a dowry beyond the fortune of Labienus.
Cornelia Metella:
Daughter of Quintus Ceacilius Metellus Pius Scipio Nasica
Wife of Gneaus Pompeius Magnus
Widow of Publius Crassus, son of Marcus Crassus.
Wealth/ Again, a good question with more research required. However, as the only daughter of a family producing no sons, except through ehr adopted father, she stands to inherit a great deal beyond her dowry, and would have a staggering dowry besides.
Labienus:
We all know who he is, and I will take his wealth as to what Lepidinia decided to assign him. I'll try and not damage what his previous owner did, but I will play him according to my lights.
GL all.Hope this helps.
