Okay. So, my system was hit with this grief-ridden bit of code. Supposedly it was captured and quarantined by Norton, on the fly. I've run full scans a couple of times, plus a couple of scans by Adaware, and neither finds the bugger "hiding" somewhere. (Yes, I have the current updates).

Just to be sure that I didn't *really* have it hiding somewhere, I went through Symantec's removal guide and (I thought) followed it to the letter.

NOW, my system registry is hosed. Argggggggh. And here's part of the problem (I'm on an XP SP1 system):

One of the steps in the removal guide tells you to turn off System Restore "temporarily" to effect the changes without reverting back to the risks caused by the worm. MAJOR BEWARE: Turning off System Restore ERASES all previous versions of restore points. Gah!!!

(OMG ... I just remembered that I stored a copy of the registry *before* I followed the suggested registry changes! Woohoo! Gonna go back and try to restore that part, at least. So, there's the good news.)

Has anyone else encountered this? Know any resolution? Those "hits" are coming from **somewhere!!!**

    Ladee
