The Guidelines to CC
How to Play
These are the basic rules. It is important to know how to play this roleplay. If you have any questions go ahead and ask and we will gladly answer. Please have a look at the whole thing. And may I inform you that when you start in the role play we may be in the middle of a crime. So you’ll have to wait until the coming one to really participate. If you’re to be maybe gone for awhile like for a few weeks or so, please tell us so we can make some arrangements.
1. An introduction of the crime will come out at the thread, The Story. Here the characters are to be introduced.
2. Next, if you are in the jury, witness, suspect level, choose the character you wish to be from our list. We’ll then e-mail you about your character.
3. After getting your character you may start posting about the case or anything.
4. The trial will start in the Courtroom. And there will be things also going on in the Jury room which is a role play area for what happens in the Jury room.
5. You can also post in the board post Outside Happening for role play which doesn't occur in the Court.
6. The Investigation department is also another role play area for the investigators to investigate about the case.
7. There will be a deadline for which the jury must decide a verdict.
8. Finally, the conclusion will be made by the true felon. If we get the wrong person, ah well, the true felon will reveal himself/herself in the thread The Conclusion. And we will put in the wrong person in jail for the fun of it.
9. After that, we start a new one and after that another new one and so on....
Positions
The position you are in shows what character you play in the role play. If you just joined in you will only be an Audience until the next crime case.
1. All groups such as juries, suspects, witnesses, lawyers, investigators please note then when you need to discuss to each other please do it privately such as through messages, grams, e-mail. We strongly not recommend messages because someone from the group may look at your message and accidentally find little clues and such. Please tell as your e-mail at the E-mail zone when you join.
2. In your positions you will rotate parts so you won’t only be a jury or the defendant all the time. You’ll be switching back and forth.
3. No one can lie or cheat by asking for clues from anyone and bothering anyone for them. Everyone has to use the proofs or the clues.
Lawyers:
1. If you are a lawyer, please discuss between yourselves if you wish to be the defendant or the prosecutor and then message the admin who is who.
2. As lawyer you are trying to convince the jury members to vote for your side as in any court trial.
3. You can ask questions about the witnesses or the suspect, not before hand though, only in court, when the judge says so.
4. Lawyers also must make an opening speech and a closing one.
5. Defense can discuss with the suspect any time secretly or not. If you are the prosecutor you get to work with the investigators.
Investigators:
1. Investigators work under the prosecutor or government.
2. Investigators can ask only yes or no questions in the clue finding room. You may ask about anything, and you may give a few questions at a time to the masterminds. Some examples of questions: Is the mastermind of this murder, the murderer? Did the murderers leave any clue?
3. The admin will answer either with yes, no, can’t answer, or irrelevant. “No” means obviously no to the investigators question. “Yes” means obviously yes to the investigators question. “Can’t answer” means if answered something will be too obvious. “Irrelevant” means the question has nothing to do with really anything.
4. Investigators may also question suspects or witnesses in the questioning room. The suspect or witness may lie if they wish. Investigators may want to try outwitting them.
5. Investigators may also ask for autopsy for a victim. But only two or less people can be chosen to get an autopsy. They have to be dead. Depending on how many clues (1 or 2) you wish to receive from the autopsy, you’ll have to wait twice the amount of days in order to receive clue or clues. You may not do an autopsy for two people at the same time.
6. If investigators get stuck totally, you may post in the clue finding room that you are stuck and wish to have a clue. You’ll receive one stuck clue and only one throughout the whole case to help you.
7. Make sure you discuss with your partner (or partners) when you are about to make a big decision such as an autopsy or going for a stuck clue.
Jury Members:
1. If you are a jury foreman, you are in charge of the jury. You collect the votes and represent the jury. If something goes wrong in between the jury, please report it to any of the admin. Also to be jury foreman, you must be voted by the juries.
2. The jury may choose what the felon deserves for the crime they have done from a chart. The chart will be posted as fast as I can. We’ll inform the group.
2. The jury must send their votes to the jury foreman by e-mail. Sorry, guys if it causes any trouble.
3. The judges can change the jury’s decision. If the judge feels the punishment is unfair. But we probably won’t do that…
Characters:
1. If you are playing a character, please play as your character and use the information you received in you e-mail.
2. If the character received is not of your liking we will try to change it to what you wish.
Others
Other rules and such that need to be followed
1. Anyone can bribe a jury member to their side secretly, but only if the chance arises. The only time this can happen is when a mastermind tells a jury member to be on a certain side. This has to be done secretly. The request can be only made from the lawyers but may not always be honored. If anyone other then the masterminds, lawyers, and that certain jury finds out, inform the mastermind and the jury will be on the other side secretly. If you’re on a certain side of a lawyer you may or may not want to inform the mastermind depending on which side requested it. Lawyers may not drop hints about bribing nor anyone else. In the end of the crime story/trial, all of the bribed jury members will tell everyone in The Story thread that they were bribed.
Conclusion
There will be different cases each time. No repeats. If the prosecutor catches the felon and puts them in jail, a point will be awarded to them. If they don’t the defendant’s side gets it. The points show how smart or unintelligent we are. And we’ll have a party if we ever reach 20 points on a certain side.
