Lix and I arrive a day after the race was supposed to be over, and I blame her entirely, we squabbled all the way to the starting line, she is my nemisis afterall. A few times while bickering she would manipulate the plant life around us that made me bring our chariot to a screeching halt, and then we'd fuss even more. Finally, I got sick of her tricks, knowing that Paddy and Isia were counting on us to make the race for Ferrigan's drum, and I just cut loose on her verbally and demanded to know why she joined my team. Her reply was, "I like to win" she then smiled at me and continued, "Paddy say's your too crazy to ride with, that means we can win."
I gave her a dirty look and folded my arms over my chest, "Well, if you want to win, why on earth are you purposely making us late?"
She gave me a wink and replied, "Makes things more interesting, don't you think?"
I said nothing and mounted the chariot, deciding not to talk with her at all until we reached Davaar Peak. The rest of the ride was quiet and uneventful.
I was very surprised when we arrived and learned the race had been extended, I looked at Lix, and said, "Use your tricks for the race and not on me, okay?"
She shrugged, "I'm here to win."

So, off we went, I decided to take the southwest slope and careen head long at full speed, we were going so fast the braids in my hair were immediately loosened, I could feel the force pulling my cheeks back toward my neck, and all the while, Lix performed tricks that no one in the screaming crowds had seen, she stood in the chariot as stable as a rock, and with a wave of her hand, plant life would shoot up around the onlookers, and it wasn't native plant life, it was exotic. They all cheered in appreciation.
"For once I appreciate your tricks!" I call over my shoulder as my eyes stayed steady on the breathtaking incline.
Lix laughed with a gleam in her eye, "You haven't seen anything yet!"
We now came to the leg of the race where we had to cross the Doirlinn, Lix immediately called out that I should take the rocky area, I paused for a moment then did what I was told, Lix has magical power's I can never understand, she is able to manipulate nature and every rock that should fall stayed steady and in place.
I heard myself let out a loud "Wahoo!!" as I urged my horses harder and faster. We were going at speed's in places even I wouldn't have dared. Once we crossed the Doirlinn, I headed west along the south shore of the loch, and noted a few racer's struggling, but this was one place that was up Lix's alley, we had to stay between the forest and the shore, but, since she had the ability to manipulate nature, she made our journey seem way too easy.

We headed north then northwest and this was a challenge for Lix, she couldn't manipulate things here, but we chugged along not knowing who was in front of us or behind us. It seemed to take forever but, finally we crossed the river and headed east, we could see the stronghold within site, but my horses were foaming at the mouth and unable to go any further. I had no choice but to rest them.

I lead the horses to drink and then I heard Lix cry out, "What is this?"
I turned and looked in her direction, and replied "It's the Cean Tir Standing Stone."
Lix looked at the stone with curiosity, "Bri, there is something written here. It seems odd."
I thanked my horses then went to see what she was talking about, I bent down and studied the images carefully.
"What do these runes say?" Lix asked.
"I don't know" I replied as I rubbed my head thoughtfully, "These are not runes, these are Roman."
We looked at each other curiously, "Well, what do they say?" Lix asked. It was good to see her at a loss, but, I couldn't enjoy it, as I was just as lost as she was. I shrugged, "I don't know." We studied it for the longest time, each of us aware we were losing precious time. We kept talking it out loud, a sheep, an oar, loaf of bread and bell...We were completely at a loss!
