His first order was to call in the legions to the city. He would oversee their augmentation and training.
Secondly, he began work on a small fleet for the western Mediterranean.
Lastly, he remembered an important fact he had neglected to tell Caesar. He pulled a sheet towards himself, to be sent along the Courier line and wrote his message.
Caesar:
I forgot to tell you! In our fighting with the Thracians, we encountered an exotic weapon. The Thracians had some sort of imported weapon called a 'falx.' It takes two hands to wield and is often swung downward like an axe. I recommend you reinforce the tops of the shields to counter them. Good luck, my general.
