Stores of mead, ale and beer had been laid in, along with drinks from around the ancient world - barrels of kash (complete with straws), amphora of Roman and Greek wines, and pulque.
Fresh linens were laid upon the tables. The floors had been swept and fresh rushes laid out. Harald had been propped in the corner and cleaned up as much as possible. He still snored but there wasn't much that could be done about that.
For those travelers who came a long way, a special menu had been prepared, as well as stables such as smoked and roasted venison, homemade breads, honey and fresh cheese and curds.

Amalasuntha surveyed the scene with great pride. The Boar fairly sparkled.
And for those who who could still crawl at the end of the night, a special gift had been prepared.
