Is it just me, or is Gladiator the most historicaly inaccurate movie to ever win an Academy Award? Is it Bravehart, or perhaps something else? ...

I said that Braveheart was more accurate, but NOT accurate. I stated that the battles (such as Stirling) were correct even if the details were wrong.

Gladiator was flawed from the start. Marcus Antoninus forced the Senate to declare Commodus his heir BEFORE leaving for the Danube. Commodus was left to rule Rome while his father put down yet another barbarian revolt. When Antoninus was killed IN BATTLE, Commodus immediately became emperor. While there was a Roman general named Maximus, he came around much later. You see, it wasn't just the matter of Commodus' death that bug me, it's just about the whole thing. Best Picure? Give me a break.
