    The site of the destruction of Varus and his 3 legions has finally gone on-line in English. There still isn't much, but you can see a bit here. There is considerably more on the German side of the site and it is probably worth a look evenif you don't have any German just for the pictures.

    Also for those of you have access to German television (ARD or KIKA), Die Sendung mit der Maus is going to explain the whole thing with Playmobil next week. They showed how they prepared the over 5000 figures (3 complete legions with pack animals and special changes for officers, standard bearers, etc.) this week (if you can see one of the repeats on the local 3rd programs, do so) and set them up in a military zone (the pack train stretches over 200 meters!). But next week should be very interesting. I'm keeping an eye out for anything on the web related to this story, so that those of you who can't see this on TV might be able to see at least a bit of it.
