for volunteers to sail to the west, to find the lost folk of Vineland. It excited me, made my blood boil to join in such a wonderful adventure. I packed supplies, hung my axe at my belt, said goodbye to my mother, and headed for the King's court. I would be part of this, for my heart told me that I would earn great honour, and the skalds would sing of me forever. They would sing of the deeds of my axe, and the way the Gods favoured me in all ways. With such dreams filling my head, I arrived, just in time to be among the last to be accepted by Erikir. Laughing with joy, I boarded the boat.
