Logicon, that is an interesting idea as to Plato. I would like to hear more about your thought of Plato being both near the light and the shadow.
This reminds me - if we now continue this "modern" discussion for a bit lonber - of Nietzsche's comment (in the Gay Science, book V, somewhere) on Plato. As well known, Nietzsche thought of Socrates and Plato as the symptoms of the decadence of Greek culture and habits. On the other hand, Nietzsche always thought of Plato as a genius and a great lyer, if one may say so. The comment I'm referring to is that Plato diminished the senses and sense testimony - not because he didn't understand sense experience, but because of his awfully sensitive senses. Plato was so sensitive towards sense testimony he had to deny it.
It's an interesting suggestion - of course in the context of Nietzsche.
But please tell us more, Logicon! :-)
