How to Use the Toolbar
At the top of your screen, just below the masthead for your world, is a yellow toolbar like the one below:
Register
Welcome
The Welcome section actually has a useful purpose. By clicking on your first name you'll be taken back to your homepage from anywhere in the site. And of course, you can use the [Login] or [Logout] link to...well, login or logout!
News
The News link will take you to the home page of the Acta Diurna...our local newspaper.
Number of Citizens
The citizens link changes depending on which world you're visiting. It will tell you how many citizens that particular world has and will take you to a page listing all of them. Of course, if you're visiting one of the sitewide boards, it'll tell you how many citizens all the worlds combined have.
Groups
The groups number indicates how many groups have been created in the world you're visiting. By clicking on the link, you will be taken to a listing of those groups. As with the number of citizens, if you're on a sitewide board, it will show you total combined groups.
Articles
The number of articles works slightly different to groups and citizens. The reference on the toolbar will tell you how many articles have been written in the world you're visting, but the link will take you to the Articles Hall, which lists all the articles written sitewide.
Board Msgs
This is possibly the most popular and useful of the links on the toolbar. It lists how many posts have been made sitewide, but the link will take you to the Daily Index. This is a page that lists all the posts being made as they're made, including group posts, public board posts, and journals. With links to all the world boards and featured groups and activites, it's one of the best places from which to begin to understand how AW works.
People Online
This link will open the comm panel for you. An explanation of this panel can be found here:
Sending a Gram
Chatters
This link will open a list of all the world chatrooms. It also shows Past Chats and Upcoming Chats, as well as any chats that are currently in progress.
Site Map
The Site Map link opens a page that provides general information about Ancientworlds, including links to the Code of Conduct guidelines, Ancientwords Staff bios, registration/subscription pages, a list of the sitewide public chat boards, and public boards for all AW worlds.
