As a student of past life regressions, I have trouble believing in what Plato and others have said about Atlantis. Although their ideas make sense to a point, some of the things that they had written are simply not corresponding to what I have seen and heard from others who have lived past lives as Atlanteans.
My own past life experiences lead me to believe that Atlantis was not distroyed, but hidden by its citizens as a way from protecting it from being conquered when they lost the war with Athens.
From what I have seen in my own regressions, and have heard from others about theirs, Atlantis was a place of mystery from the beginning of the society. There were people there who had great gifts. Everything from healing to telekinesis and even some with gifts beyond human comprehension today. Supposedly Atlantis was the birth place of all natural born witch souls and when the time is once again right on earth, the beacons of Atlantis will call to the souls of those who were born there.
Granted, this is all mystery and based on an idea that a lot of people do not believe in, but I, for one, do.
