An idea like this has never been really worked out before, since many of the SLL members have been busy pretty much on their own terms learning Latin and using this school as a means of assistance and assessment to a regular Latin course in RL.
But if people, at least a group of people, would like to work through the lessons with some more structure and dealine work, that's fine with me. At the moment, I'm the only Latin teacher who is online quite regularly, because of all my other business at AW, but I gather that there won't be kind of a storm of people who want to participate in a regular course tutoring programme all of a sudden, so I think I can deal with this on my own, to begin with.
For all ye starters, let's begin at the beginning of the course posted in the LECTIONES LATINAE Board. I suggest all who want regular and deadlined tutorship to do the following:
First, read the Beginner's Guide to the LECTIONES LATINAE, so as you will know where to find your course material and where to send your work to.
Secondly for absolute beginners of Latin, here is the first work assignment and deadline:
I. Study Lectio I (lessons 1) and Syntaxis Lectionis I (Syntax to lesson 1)
II. Do the following exercises to Lectio I: Exercitiones Lectionis I (exercises to Lesson 1)
III. Send your exercise work to Tanaquil; the deadline for handing this work in will be Monday, April 18th, 2005
For those, who are a bit more experienced with the Latin language or who want to do more for the same deadline, please read the following:
I. Study Lectio I, Syntaxis Lectionis I, Lectio II and Lectio III
II. Do the following exercises to Lectio I, II and III:
Exercitiones Lectionis I, Exercitiones Lectionis II and Exercitiones Lectionis III
III. Send your exercise work to Tanaquil; the deadline for handing this work in will be Monday, April 18th, 2005
If you have ANY QUESTIONS regarding the Latin language and any difficulties with this and you want to share those with others? Please post your questions on the QUAESTIONES Board.
If you have ANY QUESTIONS regarding the Latin language you don't want to share with others, or if you have any suggestions, please send an email to Tanaquil.
