Just this morning, I was remembering M. Didius' wonderful "Saturnalia calendar" and rubbing my hands with glee, wondering what fun larks we could be up to for "the season." As usual, you came up with great ideas almost before anyone had noticed what day it is!
One thing I know is being considered is another site-wide trivia contest, as we have so many new members who'd like to cheer their team and/or participate. I particularly like the "decorate your domus" contest - in fact, I loved every idea you noted.
What I'd love to also see is a way to incorporate the whole site and all its cives into this Roman festival; of course, so many cultures had their own winter solstice festivals of one kind or another. I think it would be fun to encourage participation from other cultures as well . . . but I haven't thought quite how yet! *puts on thinking stola*
You ARE a dear man, always thinking of fun things to do.
