    IN THE PROVINCES

In Hispania, the revolt of the Vasconi in unconquered Hispania Incognita has continued but without the same number of incursions. Titus Labienus and reinforcements from Tarraco have marched to meet them but there has yet to be an armed conflict.

The siege of Gades ended with the capture of Lucius Cornelius Balbus Minor but the Gadetani refused to capitulate forcing Cnaeus Pompeius Minor to attack and sack the city. Most of the populace was sold into slavery.

Pompeius and Caesar have met in Narbo to discuss the current situation of the empire. Several subjects were brought up including the hand over of Balbus Minor (who has since escaped to Rome and is currently in transit to Alexandria) to his patron, Caesar. The meeting was also included an emissary from Xabier, Prince of the Vasconi and Leander of Massilia, who made a trade agreement with Caesar. The biggest break-through of the conference was that Pompeius agreed to participate in the new regime of Rome at the end of his term in Hispania.

Caesar has incurred the wrath of Cicero by declaring several edicts. The politician has since called upon Caesar and Pompeius to rebuild the Republic, starting with the Senate House in Rome

The exiled Republicans have completed their move to Ephesus and the dictator Marcellus has finally decided to lead three legions of reinforcements to the Levant to investigate the situation.

In the East, the war between the Republic and the Parthians has taken a severe turn for the worse for the Romans. After being forced back behind the walls of Antioch, Metellus Scipio's men at length capitulated and were forced to walk under the yoke. The sick were executed and the rest were sold into slavery. The Parthians did not occupy Antioch and are instead marching towards Damascus.

Sextus Pompeius has left Egypt with 14,000 troops and has arrived at Gaza where he plans to meet Malichus, King of Nabataea to discuss the Parthian problem. Sextus Pompeius is not yet aware of the fate of Antioch but has heard rumours of a great disaster.

In Alexandria, Caius Octavius has been taken as a pupil by Sosigenes
