What an amazing symbol of love, to have a monumental tomb dedicated to the one you love!! The The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus (One of the Seven Wonders of the World) was dedicated to King Mausolus of Caria by his grieving wife, Queen Artemisia, as a memorial to their great love. It stood 40 feet high and was surrounded by 36 columns, standing atop a marble pedestal at the intersection of the two main streets of Halicarnassus. Around 1522 AD the Mausoleum was ordered destroyed as an example of Pagan art.

Destroyed or not, a Seventh Wonder of the World is an amazing sign of one's love for another!
