As silly as I thought the staff-battle had been between Gandalf and Saruman, it really prepared for a beautiful effect when Saruman is left on the floor after being cast from Theoden. Truly awesome."

    I totally agree. What thrilled me was to see Theoden's memory and strength return. I thought Bernard Hill conveyed that look of recognition so well.
