    It has been my understanding that Britain was just as Christianized as the rest of the Roman empire, by the time the legions pulled out and left the Britons to themselves. So when the Angles, Jutes and Saxons came and occupied most of "England", they found Christanity entrenched everywhere they went. Within a few generations, most of the barbarians had embraced the indigenous religion.
