After months of siege the Roman Commander, Falco, gives the order to assault Saldae.
The Roman, Numidian, and Mercenary forces charge the walls as ballista bolts rocket overhead and catapults bombard the walls. Some men charge breaches smashed in the walls. In other places ladders are raised. Soon the Roman forces can penetrate the walls and kill all the cowards inside!
As the marines come ashore, the Roman fleet suffers from an "artillery traffic jam" preventing some units from engaging.
The fighting is fierce, as the Mauritanians show unanticipated loyalty to their king in the face of a foreign invasion, or perhaps it is merely loyalty to their genitalia. But in the end, numbers and Roman skill win the day. Fighting in the main city square, King Bocchus' horse is speared and he is trapped beneath. With their King down and quickly taken prisoner, the remaining Moors give in.
