    The problem with my "character" is that he is a very early Anglo-Saxon, born from the earliest travellers who set foot in Britannia, and there are few sources about that time. Yet that, too, places him in an ambiguous situation: are his people settlers or conquerors, from his point of view? He can't help but admiring the Roman civilization, so he is once again half-way between two worlds.
