Idaea the nymph who married the river god Scamandros and gave birth to Teucer, the first king of Troy, was probably an oread or mountian nymph and thus representative of the mountain itself. There was also an Idaeus, son of Dardanos and Chryse, who was said to have introsuced the cult of Kybele on Mt. Ida.
