Dear Livius Drusus,
We all are surprised with this new but happy to know your real nature. Even that you are only two years older than myself, and younger than many senatores here present, you decided to retire from cursus honorum. You prefered to step aside before your son and this needs courage. Congratulations for all your achievements and may Fortuna accompanies you, as well as your son, in your new live. Viva Drusus!
Now, on other matters Patres Conscripti,
I oppose Senatus Consultum Rufinium de Cisalpina (MRA) because it is too early to colonise that area. However, the legio at Etruria could be sent over there to back up the operations.
While we need to help our businessmen, I think that either they must pay for those amphoras or, if this lex is passed, they must pay the Aerarium each month for this service... Did you noted that our expenses exceed our monthly incomes? Therefore I oppose Senatus Consultum Fabia Urinae Publica (CFM).
About Senatus Consulta Livia Domini Peregre (CLD), I am doubtful. We do not have sovereignity over our allies and the promulgation of this SC could attract us more even more troubles than we have. I suggest that each roman citizen willing to own properties on ally territory must get up his petition to that government, as a particular... What if an ally want to purchase land in Italia? Because of these reasons, I oppose it.
Finally, I oppose Senatus Consultum Domitia Militium (DDC), until our expenses equal our incomes. I do not like to remember this honorable House that my rejected proposal on the matter prevented this ignominious situation. May our Gods help III Legio, now isolated at Naupactos! Oh Juppiter, make this good soldiers return home with their families, where they belong, unscratched soon!
Rustico.
