(I know, it's a bad way to start off!) and he told me that Caesar brought elephants with him when he came to Britain. I'd never heard of this - is he right? Can someone help me out here?

(Fancy meeting a guy in the middle of Ontario, Canada, and in a hick bar at that and he knows all this stuff about Roman history! That in itself is fascinating *grin*)
