Decius Marius Curius, on behalf of Ursus Longinus, who is presently serving in Gallia Transalpina, stated, "Senate of Rome, I find myself in agreement with our former Consul Nerva Servilius. Young Cimber has proven himself to be an able commander and deserves the right to exercise the authority of praetor, with its incumbent responsibilities and benefits, until the fate of Commodus Atrebas is learned. Therefore I urge us all to support the Senatus Consultum Iulia de Propraetura Cimberis. Give Cimber the authority to act as a properly designated praetor until Atrebas returns once again to command his province."
Curius paused a moment, then continued, "No one deserves the rest you seek more than you, Aeneas Iulius Romulus. May the gods smile on you and grant you many days of peace."
