from the murder scene Lady Marjorie and Porcia walked towards the lobby.
"I'm famished, dear and I think a cup of hot sweet tea is in order," Lady M declared, trembling a little.
Porcia sighed audibly and nodded, "That sounds like just the thing. I haven't had a bite to eat yet today and after seeing that dreadful scene I need something to compose myself."
Both women entered the Khedival Salon and were seated by a waiter.
"What a buzz there is in here today. Not surprising..." Lady Marjorie murmured, touching her temple. "I think I'm getting a headache."
Porcia smiled, "Do you think it's the excitement this morning, the drinking last night, or both?"
"Both, I'm sure," Marjorie answered. "I am going to go to my room for a lie down after eating something. I also need some peace and quiet to think about this. Something is wrong here. The man was garotted and then shot..."
"Yeah, you know what I think? I think TWO people did him in", Porcia declared. "A person who'd strangle someone isn't going to waste his time shooting him too."
"I agree, my dear. And the more I think about it, the more I am convinced that our friend John did not commit this crime. And if he did not, we need to help find out who did it so he can be released."
Porcia nodded wholeheartedly. "I don't think the poor fellow did it either. He doesn't strike me as the vicious killer type. He lost his head when he first saw LeBlanc or whatever his name is... but he's not a calculating cold-blooded murderer. That's my gut feeling." She took a bite of hot buttered toast.
Lady M finished her cup of tea and dabbed the corners of her mouth. She took another grape and popped it into her mouth and chewed absently. Her eyes swept the room and then widened in horror.
"Good God, it's that man!" she exclaimed.
