Here's a somewhat random question concerning Roman rings - does anyone out there know the signficance of silver? I've read discussions on bronze, iron and gold rings, but very little on silver. I wonder if if was relegated to a certain class (equestrian or above) or - what? Also, does anyone know anything about ring inscriptions? I'm curious what VOT on a ring would stand for. Thanks!
