The recent earthquakes to the east of Neapolis (with tragic loss of children's lives) remind me of the large earthquake of 62 which devastated Pompeii and preceeded the eruption of Vesuvius in 79. I hope that the latest tremors do not similarly foretell a catastrophe on a huge scale.
