    LOL - right you are, Cal, regarding Sallust. And if I recall, he used the conventional Roman terms for an unsexed or masculine woman - i.e., smart, intelligent, opinionated, and didn't meekly sit in the background! Sheesh, what sexist pigs in togas they were! (I know, I know - comparatively, they were far better than most other ancient cultures, but it still makes me cringe).
