    If she was indeed Decimus Brutus' mother then it was my mistake in thinking Burl meant the *other* Brutus. Was she?

    The author who thrashed her, Heraklia, was none other than Sallustius in his "Conspiracy of Catilina". He grudgingly concedes she was interesting and accomplished but finds fault with her for being "masculine".
