Greetings.
I am most sorry I am not able to talk to you in person; as you well know it is next to impossible to be able to make one's way through the throng. I hope this letter reaches you within the next year. As much as I would like to say I am sorry or, worse, that I pity you, I can't. Doubtless you have heard these words from so many people that they have become meaningless to you. I have no desire to send you meaningless words. I cannot even say that, losing so many close people myself, I am able to feel your pain. Your grief is an overwhelming one that should be yours and yours alone. I cannot tell you to get over it or to grieve how long you need to. Both options are cruel as well as false. What can I say? Your father was a great man and I sincerely hope you'll be able to walk in his footsteps.
Porcia has shut herself up in her own house since the news. Although I have not heard from her in a long while, I know both she and Marsius grieve with us as well. I have heard rumours as well that you have a new addition to the family. If it is true, then you have my congratulations. If not, I will continue to pray for your healthy child.
