    CIVIL WAR IN ILLYRICUM

After many months of disease, king Pleuratus II of Illyricum has dead in Salonae. Immediately Tyrtaeus Lysiacius from Narona and Matules Iapos from Burnum marched to Salonae to take possesion of the palace. But once at Salonae they found the city doors closed. Marcus Fulvius Sesquiculum has made public the last will of king Pleuratus and, showing to be the regent of the kingdom, has ordered to the king guard to arrest both the two pretendants. Matules and Tyrtaeus joined in alliance refusing to recognize the Roman Usurper, declaring the indipendance of their cities. While Matules is marching towards Salonae with his army, Tyrtaeus wants to chase away Romans from Lissus.
More news as soon as possible.

    Dispatch from Mauretania
Servius Tarpeius Dentatus, Legio XXIII Legatus has sent a dispatch to the Senatus:
Patres, I’m sorry to inform you Commander Marcus Claudius Asiaticus has dead after a long disease.
Meanwhile, after Caius Livius Drusus Iuniore, with Numdian Mercenaries, has defeated king Bogud south from Icosium making him to flee west with what remains of his cavalry, king Bocchus has offered me his surrender and to open a negotiate.
King Bocchus is available to abandon even Saldae if Roma will grant the indipendance of what remains of his kingdom and protection from the Numidian marauders (as he calls our allies).
Please note the city of Saldae is completely encircled by Roman troops. But I have no authority to accept the offer. So, in presence of a negotiate, I and the Legati of the other two legiones are stopping any offensive operation to do not violate ambassadors sacrality. Please send me a new commander with imperium and fetiales, and orders.

    Numidia captures Icosium
The brutality of Numidian mercenaries has hit the Mauretanian city of Icosium, showing their total lack of respect towards any human right. Once annhilated the enemy troops, the totality of civilians has been enslaved and deported in Numidia. Also the Icosium temples has been sacked by the mercenaries. The city is now depopulated and will not self recover.

    The furious Sisenna
To take his revenge on the Galilaeans barricated in the village of Hiamnia, Cnaeus Ulpius Sisenna has been not able to rescue the sieged Diospolis and the light infantry he deployed there as garrison has been annhilated by the enemy. Another city in the poor Palaestina has been virtually razed to the ground, at this rate the regions will become desertified.

    Movements in Gallaecia
After the recent battles close to Iturissa, Quintus Fabius has regrouped all the remaining troops at Segisama. Feeling also the barbarians suffered a lot of casualities at Iturissa, he is trying to take adavantaged from the occasion to carry a strong attack in direction of the great Gallaecian fortess of Aracilium.
Will it be the key point of the whole campaign? Or, the barbarians will attack the weak garrisons leaved in Bergidum and Lancia?

    Cordatus is reaching Rhodus
Leaving Cotta resting well guarded in Corcyria, the Pontifex maximus as sailed to Rhodus. No news are yet arrived from the island but it seem Drakus Domitius Cordatus has been welcome in the harbour and that also the new Rhodian council is favourable to Roma.

    City News

Many citizens are rumouring about the new solarium Arminius Terentius is to build in Forum. Some of them are wondering the utility of a similar device, while other are fearing to hurt the gods that are mastering the time.

The Collegium Tribunorum has met to deliberate on the veto on SC Valeriano de Fair-Play. But, since no one of those who submitted the issue joined the meeting, unanimously the Collegium decreed to do not counterveto.

It is official, Domitia is pregnant. Immediately witticisms are spreading through the Urbs. There is who says if the baby will born not paralized, he will be not son of Cotta. In this case Domitia would be happy that Lex Valeriana de adulteria has failed!.
