    This discussion has been thought-provoking. I would hope, since they were tricked into their binding, that the Nazgul would be able to choose to repair any damage they had done. However - they were enslaved for so long and so completely I wonder if they would even know the difference?

    For instance, Theoden too was enslaved by Wormtongue's wily,er, tongue. When he was broken from the spell, he was able to see that he had been deceived and made reparations. However - his enslavement was quite short-lived. The Nazgul, on the other hand, have been slaves to the Ring for thousands of years. Maybe I am a pessimist, but wouldn't they be more deeply affected to the point of irredemption?

    Admittedly I am ignorant about magical arts - this is only my opinion as a reader. It's just interesting to ponder.
