    Homely or not, she was "Egypt" as she said and that had all the attraction needed for Caesar and Antony. Maybe that's one of the perks of being a world class dictator, all your ex-girl friends get reclassified to being 10's in retrospect.

    In the shadows of the new movie Alexander, this is a good time to point out to anyone not familiar with this time period that Cleopatra was actually of Macedonian descent. Ptolomy was one of Alexander's generals and received Egypt as an inheritance. As I recall, Cleopatra was the first of the dynasty to even learn to speak the Egyptian language.
