Researching Cato's history I found his family line produced several consuls, including Marcus Porcius Cato (118), Gaius Porcius Cato (114), and Lucius Porcius Cato (89). However two of them met untimely deaths; Gaius at the hands of the Scordisci and Lucius at the Battle of Fucine Lake. I am intrigued, however, at the elusive M. Porcius Cato who preceded them.
